For over 30 Years, Rene has committed her professional life to others.
Rene is a wife, mother, and registered nurse. She began her career as an intensive care nurse, but quickly realized her passion was in flight nursing.
Hard work, perseverance and dedication are the pillars on which Rene built her professional career. After spending the bulk of her career as a flight nurse, Rene tackled healthcare leadership with the same passion and commitment she provided each of her patients.
In her current role as the administrative director of an air medical program, she utilizes her strengths as a strategist to negotiate contracts, develop and oversee budgets, and ensure her staff have the tools necessary to provide high quality care. She specializes in finding ways to make processes more efficient while also ensuring accountability to stakeholders.
It’s long past time for accountability in Washington, and Rene plans to use her expertise once elected to Congress to protect our liberties and ensure fiscal responsibility.
Rene was born in Arlington, Texas, but has lived all over the country, finally settling in North Carolina where she has lived since 1992. She worked part-time while attending nursing school and earned her first degree from The University of South Carolina. She later graduated from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Applied Science and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership from East Carolina University.
Rene is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Association of Air Medical Services, and an Instructor for the Medical Transport Leadership Institute.
Rene is the proud mother of one son, Ryan, who is set to marry his fiancé, Shannon; the two live in Durham and Ryan also works in the medical field. Rene and her husband, Andy, enjoy country living in rural Orange County with their dog Milo, a 7 year old Pyrenees mix rescue. When they have free time, Rene and Andy enjoy traveling, attending baseball games, and spending time with friends and family.
